About Maqqie
At Maqqie, you easily arrange your contract and payment yourself completely online via one (web) app. You will find (flexible) jobs, shifts and freelance assignments. In the app, you can register your hours, request leave, manage contracts and choose whether you want to be paid weekly or fortnightly. You also get access to training and education to develop yourself further. Everything is taken care of so you can focus on your work.
Getting started as an employee
1. Register
Create your account via this registration page or via the invitation you received via SMS/email from your employer.
2. Complete your profile
To start registering hours worked, your Maqqie profile must be complete. This requires your account to include name and address details, contact details and a proof of identification. You can do the latter by uploading a picture of the front and back of your ID card/passport.
3. Sign your contract
The company you work for will enter into a partnership with you via the Maqqie app, draw up the contract and make sure all the details are correct. You only need to sign the contract and your hours worked can be registered.
4. Register your hours
Go to Registrations in the main menu on the left.
Click on + New registration and select the right contract.
Select the correct registration type:
Standard hours: these are ‘normally’ worked hours.
Leave (paid): paid hours you can take for e.g. holidays.
Leave (unpaid): unpaid hours you can take.
Night shifts: hours you work at night.
Overtime: hours you work outside normal hours.
Mileage allowance: the allowance you get as an employee per kilometre.
No work: write these hours if you were available but there was not enough work as contractually agreed. Then you get paid these hours up to the contract hours.
Then select the date you worked and choose the start time and end time. Enter how long you had a break and then click on the + Create button.
Available leave
Go to Registrations > Paid leave. Here, you can directly view the amount of available leave you still have.
Logging paid leave
You can log paid leave in the Maqqie app using the following buttons: Registrations > Paid leave > Register paid leave > Select a Contract > Choose the Registration type: Verlof (betaald) > Select the dates you wish to take off > Click Create.
5. Payment
Maqqie works with a streamlined process for time tracking, approval, invoicing and payment. It works like this:
You must submit your (leave) hours for the previous week no later than Monday at 23:59.
The company you work for has until Tuesday at 10:00 to approve the submitted hours, correct them, or reject them.
If your hours are corrected or rejected, you have until Wednesday at 10:00 to accept or decline the change. If you decline the correction, you will be paid based on the hours you originally submitted. We will notify the company you work for about this and advise you to discuss the situation together to avoid similar issues in the future.
Depending on whether you’re paid weekly or every four weeks, we will transfer your salary on Thursday (either weekly or every four weeks). The money will appear in your bank account no later than Friday.
You can find your payslip in the Maqqie app under Documents. Do you want to learn how your payslip is put together? Check the payslip explainer (Dutch).
You can find the payout dates for four-weekly payments here.
Wage tax reduction
You can turn the wage tax reduction on or off by clicking My profile in the top right corner and going to Info and settings. Then scroll down to Wage tax reduction and use the button to switch it on or off. After that, sign the digital document via the link that appears. Please note: your change will only take effect once you’ve signed it, and it will apply from your next payout.
